Insemination (IUI)
With intrauterine insemination (IUI), a woman’s partner’s own sperm or that of a donor is transferred directly into the uterus during ovulation with the aid of a thin catheter. This method can be used several times, i.e. every time a woman ovulates.
First, an analysis of the sperm shows whether intrauterine insemination might have the desired effect. If this is the case, sperm are retrieved at the clinic and the treatment is carried out afterwards. Intrauterine insemination can also be carried out using donated sperm.
